Cosmetic Changes

I’ve made some minor changes to the blog’s template in my copious free time. Just thought you should know—they’re small enough that finding them is like some sort of OCD treasure hunt.

Back in the Fray

I’m actually pretty excited to write again. Like a lot of people, I have a predilection for starting blogs that I don’t put much in, and then packing up that blog and moving entirely to a different blog, that looks and works very much the same except that it’s at a different domain and, potentially, is running different software.

But, until I get Supercollider into a working state (more on that later), I have decided that WordPress is simply good enough, and that, if I am to really make a go at this whole writing thing, it is probably good to focus on the writing first and the machinery second.

That’s all good. So: who am I? To be honest, if you’re reading this relatively recently after it’s been posted, you probably know who I am. Heck, I probably know who you are with some probability around 0.3. Therefore, let’s put this paragraph aside for now. (If you’re reading this at some point in the future: hello! How are the flying cars and space jets? There’s probably an “About Me” page somewhere here that you can use.)

Why am I excited to write this, then? And what will I be writing about? Okay, this, I think, it’s worth taking a stab at.

Why am I excited? Well, primarily, it’s because I think writing is pretty therapeutic for me. It’s hard to find real people, out in the actual world, who want to hear one bitch about the frustrations of being a student, or who want to hear one’s newest harebrained scheme for better executing a particular homework assignment.

Fortunately, that’s why Jesus invented the Internet: so that people from all around the world can flock to my blog and tell me exactly how much of a moron I am. Or something like that.

So, good; it’s a way to blow off steam.

Also, I happen to think that I have some pretty good ideas that it would be nice to put out into the world for people to consider. Maybe some subset of those people would then actually tell me their considerations, in return, and we could start some sort of dialog. Or, at the very least, they might consider me suitable for a job/party position.

As regards the what I’m going to be writing about: I don’t have a really clear picture yet. I guess I outlined a lot of what I’m thinking will be going on above: emotions splattered on the page, ideas outlined, schemes presented. And that’s probably about where I’ll start.
